Avesh Khan, a fast bowler from Madhya Pradesh who debuted in both ODI and T20I cricket last year, has been called up to the Indian Test team for the second Test match against South Africa in Cape Town, which is scheduled to begin on January 3.
Subject to receiving a fitness clearance, Shami was included in the first squad selected for the tour. He was consequently disqualified from the series since such information did not originate from the BCCI medical staff.
India lost the first Test at Centurion by an innings, and the BCCI announced the replacement. Avesh participated in the earlier part of this month’s ODI series in South Africa, taking six wickets in three matches. Avesh has taken 149 wickets in 38 appearances in first class cricket, including seven five-wicket innings.
